The Ingredient We Need to Talk About: Zinc Oxide

Take a look at the ingredient list and you’ll notice something interesting:

Zinc Oxide is the very first ingredient.

Zinc oxide is a mineral ingredient commonly used across both cosmetic and sun-care formulations. In CeraStick, it is part of the thoughtfully developed mineral-based complexion formula alongside titanium dioxide and iron oxide pigments.

You may already associate zinc oxide with mineral sunscreen products—and there’s an important distinction we want to make.

CeraStick is not marketed or labeled by Axxis Beauty as an SPF or sunscreen product in the United States.

Why?

In the United States, sunscreen claims such as an SPF number are regulated by the FDA. A cosmetic containing an ingredient that is also commonly used in sunscreen does not automatically mean the finished cosmetic can be marketed with an SPF claim. Specific regulatory, formulation, testing, labeling, and manufacturing requirements apply before those claims can be made.

So while zinc oxide plays a prominent role in our CeraStick formula, we don’t make an SPF claim for CeraStick.

And we don’t need to.

There is already so much to love about this formula for exactly what it was created to be: an effortless, skin-first complexion product.

Ceramides are naturally present in the skin and are an important part of the skin barrier. Our formula contains glycolipids and glycosphingolipids, helping support a complexion that feels comfortable, balanced, and smooth.

COCOA BUTTER

Rich and conditioning, cocoa butter helps soften and nourish the skin while contributing to CeraStick’s creamy glide.

JOJOBA OIL
